Autism and Mindfulness for Parents – Dunboyne Co Meath

Let  me tell you about my interest in starting a mindfulness group for parents of children or young adults with Autism.

I have many years personal experience in this area. I am also a professionally qualified mindfulness teacher and lecturer for over twenty years now.  With both of these qualifications in hand I wish to offer parents a little supportive time where they can learn tools and skills towards helping themselves.

Autism awareness and acceptance is now thankfully taking its place on the public platform. I have come across parents and individuals over the years who feel somehow not part of the larger community due to the many demands made on their personal time. Those who need a space to unwind and relax, to meet and chat to others who share their personal challenges.

I wish to create a space where parents can learn the art of mindfulness and how it can benefit their lives from a cognitive and experiential approach.  Where they can look forward to an hours ‘downtime’ with content that supports a better mental and emotional approach to their personal challenges.
